I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread about where people can get help to get out of an abusive situation.
I’d like it to stay on topic, just share the information needed, so people don’t have to search too hard to find the help they need. This does NOT include any PRC/RPC elders or ministers.

If you are in an abusive relationship and need help: www.rainn.org/The exception here is if you believe your life may be at risk. If you believe your life is at risk, then skip right on ahead to 911. If you believe your life is at risk, call the police. |

safeinharmsway.org/Safe in Harm’s Way is a nonprofit and ran by a formerly abused woman who was abused in her marriage and she is a SURVIVOR. This site will walk you though EVERYTHING you need to do in order to be safe, including having a button to click to leave the site immediately for your safety. If you are ready to leave an abusive relationship, they provide you with information on what to do and how to do it. FYI: Maurice’s clothing store is a SAFE PLACE. If you need help, go to Maurice’s, let them know you need help, and the employees will take you in the back where you will be SAFE, call the police, and they will take you to an undisclosed location WITH YOUR CHILDREN and make sure you are all safe! We can’t help anyone who chooses to stay other than be there for them, but we can let them know that we see them, and are here when they choose to make a change. Educate yourself and be safe!
