I said Turkey Day because I know the hard core cult members prefer "Thanksgiving". And having something "blessed" and "turkey day", is such a sin. God forbid you have fun...oh wait, you're all going to church that day. My bad.
Thursday church Sunday church church
Wow, this holiday is a churched-out weekend. Yet another colossal waste of time. All of those sermons... Now the minister needs to double up on his BS for you to discuss how much the lord has blessed you through the year and you should appreciate it all.
Then ya gotta figure out when to put the bird in the oven, then time it when you go to church, along with all of the other high carb garbage you're gonna eat.
yeah...good luck with all of that, and the fakeness that follows.

And Christmas and New Years fall on Saturdays this year. Just think about all the fun PR's will have attending all those extra services! I may be wrong in my count, but it's that 8 services in 2 weeks?

The amount of extra holiday services is one of those things that the RPC was like "yo, this is absurd and needs to change".
Congratulations to all the RPC families having a regular ol' American Thanksgiving for the first time in their lives. When you're going around the table talking about what you're thankful for this year, consider mentioning being thankful for the many ways we can derive the shape and size of the earth.

Maybe at the next pancake breakfast for the flat earthers. #crazies.

Better stock up on them Wilhelminas.

So the RPC isn't having Thanksgiving services? Nah. Not to my knowledge anyway. Maybe they're doing something this year, I don't actually know for sure. I did watch the RPC Classis and they adjusted the worship order to adopt new RPC standards, something they could use to give them a sense of distinction from their heretic PRC cousins. The stated reason, if I recall correctly, is that it makes no sense to include a mandated church order for an American Thanksgiving service when the foreign RPC brethren don't celebrate those holidays. That the PRC recognizing and demanding worship services on so many holidays stems from their obsession with demonstrating outwards holiness, and that the Bible demands no such worship and it's just PR's adding extra services like the Pharisees would. I have a pet theory that it's because they all hate marathon church during the Thanksgiving/Christmas/Old Years/New Years season as much as the rest of us, but they can't be honest about it and so they have to manufacture a reason for why they got rid of it. So say it's unbiblical and is a stumbling block to our non-American brethren, and boom - you get to stop doing something you dislike, you get to make your enemies look like overzealous Pharisees, and you get to look extra pious for following what the Bible says. It's win-win-win. But that's just because I'm a cynic who believes the world is round. What do I know? Andy says I'm just a whore anyways. Don't listen to whores, kids.

There's a wonderful amount of hypocrisy in keeping multiple mandatory Sunday services yet calling someone a Pharisee for mandatory holiday services lol.

Two minuscule denominations that think they know God's mind the best. I'm glad they're both so Lilliputian and pathetic. Such behavior as these two sects display doesn't warrant significant numbers. They certainly don't warrant my respect. I'm so glad they suck so bad at evangelism; that is something for which to be thankful.

The RPC are having Thanksgiving services. Wow! I'm honestly a little surprised. Maybe they just removed it from the church order because of the international aspect? I'm going to have to re-watch that RPC classis video and see what's up. I'll timestamp the relevant parts when I can find it again. I apologize for the misinformation. My whoredom knows no limits.

Fellow whore/cynic chiming in - I strongly agree with parts of your pet theory. PRC/RPC members for the most part dislike church if they're being honest. I think this is one of those things that dont get enough discussion. Paradoxically, I think part of the reason why they do so much church is precisely BECAUSE they dislike it. Authority doesn't work until you do something you dislike. Also, you get the honor of "suffering for your faith" - and who doesn't want to outsuffer their Dutch brethren?

They might as well go to church so they don't get an early start on Thanksgiving while the prc side is still in church
