I find this another song so lovely to absorb with wonder. A song by Twila Paris, You Are Holy...have you heard it before Cannalily? I imagine leading worship with this someday maybe. I find it just so beautiful and I appreciate the simplicity of this song...a quieting meditation/medication for anxiety especially. It's so good to Remember WHO HE is... it always helps me. It's like a washing... bathing my soul over and over with these refocusing truths about our Living God. I have, actually. It was one of the first songs introduced to me after I left the PRC. It is striking in that it's NOTHING like a Psalter number, and yet it's tender and loving. My first impression was hampered by my mental illness - the drums! "It's Christian ROCK" - I shouted in my head....but then the better part of me said, no, wait and see... #RecoveringAlcho...ExPRCMember.

I had a conversation recently with a friend of mine who is PRC. We've been chatting about a lot of things lately. ( I know, it's shocking, a PRC person having conversations with a non PRC right?) When I said "yah, back when I was PRC I remember hearing about God a lot...and I remember sermon after sermon about doctrines and covenants and such and I remember sermons about the Calvin confessions...but, not much was ever really said about this man Jesus". My PRC friend gasped and said "You're right! Not much about Jesus at all". I think, the light went on. Really, I do. Just Give Me Jesus...a favorite song of mine...and a center point of my existence now. Not a whole lot of arguing about doctrine anymore...but, please give me Jesus. Don't clutter up my soul with access religious talk...just, give me Jesus. Wait...what psalteri number is this?

I know...takes awhile for the old tapes to wear out. Ultimately the gift of the Psalmist wins out right? Movement and rhythm and measure and meter all belong to God...adding nurturing and worshipful words..very meditational. SSSSsigh....peace. I am glad youblike this song Cannalilly. What other songs have captivated your heart? Actually, a bunch of "re-done" classic hymns work nicely for me. I'm a big fan of good arranging. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary music for the sake of the "church band" type - aka guitar, drums, and a few female voices...it really doesn't do it for me. That being said, I can now appreciate the talent of any well done piece of music.

Truth be told, I'm more interested in videos like these. www.facebook.com/NowThisNews/videos/1814382988651817/?hc_ref=ARSje3fo77yDTW3TtzJGbeEUWIwxjB2aw4gGNFBWJy0wAM7324talpQdxGUBq23MA6AEverything from the PRC perspective would blow your mind. The doctor isn't a PRC member, the nurses, and even the DONOR isn't a PRC member. Yet, in the eyes of the PRC, they're all going to hell. Just think about that for a second. This is why this site is sooo important. Because people are missing out on life going there. Even Ichobod - incredibly short sighted. He thinks that everything is cut and dry. But it isn't. And the sooner you figure that out, the sooner you can actually start living!

yeah, I know what you mean Cannalilly. Really good re-takes on classic hymns are so wonderful...like freshly washed worn old sheets. Love 'em. Sometime the contemporary songs lack substance lyrically...and get to repetative for me. I like a clear keen melody, music that leaves room for the imagination and time for the heart to soar and lift. Yep, sometimes fresh talent brings a newness, and an innocent honesty in their song making...a vulnerably that invites one to enter into genuine worship instead of giving the listener a sense of "oh, please listen to this song it's manufactured in the Christian song writing hit factory"... But, check this song out by Fransesca Battistelli,-If Were Honest ...It turns my heart over and over like a pancake cooking on a grill... - Pretty!
