A group on Facebook to help those with abuse within the pr church. Search shining light on abuse. I'm not on FB. Personally, I find the site deleterious overall. But, this surprises me. 116 members? Can you send a link? The link wouldn’t be any use because you need to have Facebook to see it

At a glance this looks like a PR-neutral group. Perhaps some are attempting to effect change from within? If so, I find this encouraging.

I find this encouraging as well. I'm not on Facebook either, but I'm curious. If anyone can see who is on the site and what they post, could that lead to more problems for them with the elder trolls? Or with the abusive family members?

Or with the abusive family members? It isn’t a place for discussion as much as it’s just sharing information and insightful articles, and giving people a committee to contact for help and resources if they need it.

Thank you for the clarification. Hopefully, those who need it are able to find the resources they need.

Thank you for the clarification. Hopefully, those who need it are able to find the resources they need. I don't think so, I see it as an emotional knee jerk reaction that was not thought out. At best the prc profit from donations and volunteer labor with a PR thrift store in the name of abuse. That is how it ends.

The problem with FB is that you cannot be anonymous, therefor no one will be honest. Honesty has always been a PR problem...people pretending to be one thing, but are actually another.

I wouldn’t say so, it’s not even created by a member of the PRC. I don’t believe it’s going to change anything in the denomination itself but maybe throw some light on the evil that’s happening and make people aware which is still a positive effect. It’s a big enough issue that the few people who don’t completely have their heads in the sand are realizing what’s going on to some extent. Like I said, I still think it’s a futile effort but why minimize the effort that’s being made?

Nobody will deny abuse can happen, it's usually behind doors where you don't know about it. Are you aware of the working poor? People struggling to pay bills, tuition, church budget and can't save for retirement because they don't have a job that pays well?
