Just wondering, what holiday traditions, decorations or displays were forbidden under the rule of the PRC? Was there ever any Christmas decorations set up in the church? Seems like a problem in the church building that Nathan and his Second RPC crew now meet in. I've been told that they turn around all the nativity displays in the building when they are there for their services as well as school during the week. <<--- Notice the nativity set on the rightThe Christmas tree behind him must really bother him.

I don't recall any seasonal decor at any of the PRC churches I attended. They wouldn't even play hymns or other holiday themed music for the preludes during the Sunday services around the holidays at my church. If I'm remembering correctly they did allow playing hymns during prelude on non-Sunday holiday services though.

There is no better metaphor I can think of for the RPC in general than them entering church and literally physically picking up and turning Jesus to face the other way from them. It's too perfect.

That picture almost looks like they're, dare I say, Roman Catholic! ..except the minister needs a cooler outfit. Maybe a cool hat.

The only Christmas related decor I can recall is a few poinsettias in front of the pulpit. We had a monthly song service before the evening service started, and Christmas hymns were allowed during the December one.

Poinsettias. That's it. Or mums, but only for thanksgiving, and only outside. #Minimalism

Around Christmas time, with poinsettias decorating the base of the podium, I remember hearing in a sermon that the true church does not decorate the sanctuary. The true church preaches a pure doctrine and decorations take away from the Gospel. There should be no distractions. Meanwhile, kids (and me) were pointing and trying not to laugh at a pair of squirrels wrestling outside the sanctuary window.
