Not to be a person that only posts tweets of Rachel DenHollander, but she had another one that really hit home for me.
“Ask any advocate. ANY advocate. If a pastor comes to court, he comes to support the perpetrator.* This is universal and nearly unequivocal. The pastors come to support the perpetrators. I have heard four of these types of stories just this week. We are decades too late asking why”
*my internal thought…until VO went to court and got sentenced for his own wrongdoing.

I don’t know if any PRC ministers or profs showed up at RVO’s trial. But I’m absolutely sure if any had it would have been to testify in his behalf. Or to show absolute support. Or just make a list of the PRC ministers or profs who would have him back right where he was and all the accusations forever silenced. |

The sad thing is it isn't only ministers and profs who support abusers in court or elsewhere. It's any abuser with influence, status, money... anything which the abuser has used to manipulate their position in their community. In my opinion, the PRC has made influence, status and money golden calves, and will do anything to defend anyone who has embraced the power these positions provide them. |
