There’s a new documentary on Independent Fundamental Baptist churches. They covered up abuse for decades, and the documentary interviews several women who are now bravely bringing this to light. It looks like four episodes. I’m halfway through it right now.
The documentary is called:Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals
It’s on the Investigation Discovery channel.

I’m halfway through it now, and there are quite a few similarities to the PRC. They have the predator shuffle, and pastors shutting down any kind of disclosure or attempts at justice or prevention.

Watching now. Only one episode in (of 4), and I can see how important this is. There's echoes of the PRC all over, even in geography: Michigan, Washington, Indiana, California.
Thanks for bringing it to the forum! Especially now, this is the kind of thing to watch to help understand what's been going on within our community.

It's going to be very interesting to see what the third party investigation reveals. PRs can point fingers all they want at IFB, but I'd wait personally. I'm going to guess that what we've read here is only the tip of the iceberg with people even scared to post here. |
