Dave E. wrote a booklet called "The Necessity of Membership in a True Church".... A little write up promoting the booklet was done by Aaron Cleveland, a member of Hope Protestant Reformed Church. Here is a quote from Aaron regarding Dave's booklet: "To disagree with the author's assessment of membership in a true church and the believer's calling as a vigilant church member is to disagree with scripture and the Reformed Confessions." (Emphasis mine). rfpa.org/blogs/news/booklet-alert-the-necessity-of-membership-in-a-true-church-by-david-j-engelsmaAnyone who says the PRC is not a cult, need only to observe what the membership thinks of its leaders. What the organization says about itself is one thing, how they actually live and act and think is another, and it is cultic, young people, do not be deceived!

A class trip to Grand Rapids MI is now called a 'Religious Pilgrimage'. Indoctrinating youth to hold men higher than God. No mention of God in this entire article, only the cult like leaders of the PRC. "....Led by retired seminary professor the Rev. David Engelsma, a group of Protestant Reformed high school students last week took a religious pilgrimage to Grand Rapids sites, including the Eastern Avenue meeting room where the Rev. Herman Hoeksema in 1925 started a new denomination....." www.mlive.com/living/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2010/05/protestant_reformed_church_stu.html

It would be a little bit more than a nice fuzzy article.

It would be a little bit more than a nice fuzzy article. The enthusiasm of the young people that comes out in the quotes is frightening. What people do not realize is that this enthusiasm is a result of these kids being indoctrinated in the PRC teachings since birth. Then being brought around to the locations of the old churches and seminary makes these teachings have validity, and further blinds them to the dangers of being caught up in the PRC.

This reminds me of those families who had a 8 by 10 picture of Herman Hoeksema on their wall. Pretty close to idol worship if you ask me. How sad...Pilgrimage???

Did they call up MLive to come and take pictures for the news? Prerry funny...read the comments below the article! LOL! Love it! Hopefully a few of those teens will be looking at the article and check out the site out of curiosity. I felt so alone when I was in the PRC and didn't realize others felt the same way I did. If this site existed then, I would've been so grateful! I'm sure there are teens in those pews who feel the same and maybe won't feel so alone here.
