So when you're in the PRC you're told that the LORD keeps you safe in his fold. But rarely, if not at all, when people leave they come back.
Which is it - are you not HIS sheep? Or is this not the LORD's fold? Or is all of this just BS to keep you in the cult?

He never said band together and make a brand name church. No he said go out and spread the truth about Jesus Christ dying for your sins. Believe on me and ye shall be saved. I’m sorry the PRC has made their “church” a “brand”. Just like Nike, Starbucks, and McDonald’s. They have their cult like followers.... so what is the difference? If someone is a Nike fan..... isn’t it a sin to wear Adidas?

Never have liked that analogy. I'd rather we were His dogs. Not cats, they're evil.

I would say yes only because of the comfortability there is there. The second you leave—people’s opinions about you change. Would be nice to remember what it feels like to not be looked down on by family and people you’ve known your entire life

What KristanWrights post is so important. the PRCA has made their "church" a "brand". Not everyone in the pews believe this way, but certainly most of them. The ministers believe this way, otherwise they would be leaving and telling the souls entrusted to them to follow their example. And the leaders in the seminary believe in the PRCA "brand" and the misguided loyalty to it, that's why although a few will splinter off here and there, now and then, the denomination is secure in its existence and its condemnation by those who know true freedom in Christ.

"True freedom" being that lack of freedom by which it is distinguished from "false freedom" or "worldly freedom". Kind of like "true love" being distinguished from "worldly love" by a lack of apparent love that reveals a concern for eternity lacking in worldly, temporally bound minds. This is the religious brand of Orwell's "newspeak". The goal of "newspeak" is to make all language into descriptions of the proper worldview so that "crimethink" becomes impossible. I highly recommend 1984 to all, it describes the PRC even as it attempts to describe the ideal totalitarian system. Sorry I'm pointing this out, it's not about you, it's just my general reaction to any Christianese, especially those words modified by "true". 🙂

Your post makes me want to pick it up again this weekend, and just read with a glass of wine and some relaxing music, and ponder the Orwellian reality that is the PRCA.
