The guys behind him! Hahaha, they can't believe it either but they don't want to make it even more of a scene! I watched it audio-less so I may have missed something. The guys behind him are the most scary thing. These guys are who all the youth attendees to this outrageous speech are looking at as they think, " is the pulpit person ok? I don't feel like it as I sit here listening to this youth group presentation, but the preacher's peers/supervisors/assistants whatever would take care of him or of us if he wasn't ok. Right? Right?" When I was a young adult of college age, I chaperoned a PR youth convention. Jack Lenting presented a lecture on "the Christian and the workplace" and his lecture was so out of line. He said one of the bad things about having to be in the corporate world when you work is that worldly businesses allow women to work, which takes jobs from men, which is one of the reasons it is hard to find good jobs. And worse, he went on, they allow women to be bosses of men, so that you may have to disobey God by serving under a woman's authority in your workplace. Ask me how many adult male leaders of the church, including ministers, were sitting up or near the front during that lecture. Did any get up, stop the speech, or escort this guy from the lectern? No, they sat quietly, gave their tacit approval. I was shocked and appalled, and I had been listening to PR sermons for a few decades at that point. Just awfulness. This is how it goes . . the peers of the exploiters and abusers don't absorb any urgency or obligation to interrupt this stuff even when it happens in their very presence, in front of their own eyes. The people in charge of a circus like this aren't leading, just going with the flow of pretending the emperor's clothes are magnificent, when the emperor is exposing everything about his psychosexual condition to everybody. Here's the outline, if you want it: beaconlights.org/sermons/choosing-an-occupation/Normally I don't advise people take career advice from a serial pedophile.

Just because he's a pedophile doesn't mean the career advice is wrong. I didn't read the beacon light so maybe there is bad advice in it.

I can't get past the first line, being a member of a PRC will make a significant impact on your career choice. Ok that reminds me too much of " Oh I hope your dating a good Protestant Reformed girl/guy" How about once in a while replacing the institution name with the word Christian. Maybe an over reach on my part but it just hit me that way.

A very important lesson parents can teach and model for kids: when and how to walk out of a meeting/performance/chapel/church service/ presentation/ lecture etc. etc. etc. One need not make an obnoxious exit, but YOU control what you sit through, WHO you listen to. Just like the television set...you can turn it off, you can take yourself out of the building. If you need to you can fake illness.....but leave you can....I've tried to think of a gathering that you can not leave during the duration.....and only a court of law comes to mind...if you leave without permission while giving testimony I bet you could be punished.... But you can leave just about anything else and deal with whatever repercussions come later. You can check yourself out of a hospital...you don't need to be dismissed by a physician. I would want a chaperon to take charge and get the kids out..a hard position for a chaperone, but one that can be argued for. Parents, adults, you do not need to sit thru trash and you can teach your kids this skill too. We are conditioned to sit nicely, thru all sorts of awful meetings, gatherings, but the video posted above is just too much. If it's garbage leave, no matter who it is up front. Tell them a crabby old lady told you that you could leave. geesh.

Ooh, I'll report you for that one. The correct response is "May the Lord open." Open what?

What do you call evangelism and missions class in the PRC? Sex education. What poses a great threat to PRC evangelism? Condoms and oral sex. What do you call an evangelism committee in the PRC? An orgy. What do you call a PRC missionary? A sex position. What do you call a PR mission field? A bed. To add to this, they also discourage adoption... Your correct since the 1950’s

How recently? Just curious 10 or 20 years ago I can confirm. They told me not to adopt, when I had issues getting pregnant

Yes. An adopted child is not from the covenant seed. We aren't God so we don't know but adoption is not a great option in the PRCA, better to stay childless and find your calling in that. A sad church. When my wife and I made the announcement to our PR family that we were adopting, one of the first comments was, “I hope the child is in the covenant.” What a stupid thing to say. Ugh. I just can’t but I can believe that someone in the PRC would say that.

Wow. Just wow…. On that note, I would like to hear from someone who is a transracial adoptee that grew up in the prc. What their experience was like growing up surrounded by mainly white Dutch kids in both church and school, etc.. Was mocked for being fat and almost blind. Was called horrible names…. Was Told that I didn’t belong. That I wasn’t one of them

Open the womb. Fertility blessing. Rhetorical question… just saying I thought so at first, then I saw questioneverything gave a response... I take everything seriously unless it's pointed out that I shouldn't. 😅
