Lamm and Mary Beth Lubbers have been attending Bethany URC. I printed off the thread about him and a relative of mine passed it on to someone at BURC to give to their consistory. Lamm announced to a few of the members at BURC that "he is an EX PR!" Lamm, are you reading your own story here since you're officially an Ex-PR? Too bad it wasn't due to the 3rd step of discipline and the PRC let ya off nice and easy.

Along with their wonderful IRBC counseling center. 🤮

Why do you say Bethany URC is another abuse hub? Ahhh! Bethany URC another abuse hub! The women they've thrown by the wayside is staggering. Along with their wonderful IRBC counseling center. 🤮 Accounts of women who have been abused by their husbands emotionally, spiritually, sexually, financially. Several who are known to be addicted to porn. These women finally become brave enough to seek help (being they have godly IRBC counseling) only to get blamed for their husband's actions or reactions. They need to be more understanding and forgiving. They need to do exactly what the church leaders tell you to do without question. And if things don't change and the wife requests her "papers" she's not allowed but is publicly excommunicated instead. So on top of the hatred shown to her by her husband and consistory, she is also labeled as evil by her fellow and former church friends.

Yes, this does happen at Bethany URC along with that kind of IRBC counseling. I keep wondering why the churches love to beat up on hurting women so much. They preach against E V E R Y T H I N G the abusers do but do nothing to them but join in the abuse on another level. The churches need to stop, literally stop everything and think about this. Patrick Weaver has a good post on Facebook today about the churches sending people all over the world to do mission work and that they should stop that until they have a mission for the abused and I would like to add they should really have a mission for the ABUSER because they are truly lost! Churches wake up!

Churches wake up! I sure love me some good Patrick Weaver statements. Abusers do not like this man because he calls them what they are. He calls them what God sees them as. Enough of protecting them. You are not loving your fellow church member by hiding their sins and calling on their spouse to endure in the hopes she will be an example to her abuser. How incredibly cruel they are! How many men would do what they made me do for almost 7 years? How many of them would willingly subject themself to rape and physical violence and know they cannot fight back or retaliate, Turn the other cheek they say...and they don't even know what that means! I often feel like an idiot learning these biblical things decades later. The more I think about the state of things, the more i realize that it is the WOMEN that will be the voice of change. But they have to stand up, be brave, start talking and demanding, and get some housecleaning done! God never sees females as lesser than men. He sees no gender or nationality or position of power. ALL ARE EQUAL IN HIS EYES. PR and RP women, you need to really hear this. God Himself sees you as equal to your spouse or any other man sitting or standing in that church. Your value and opinion is just as important. God gave you wisdom and a mouth to speak. If you stand up for what is right, GOD WILL BLESS YOU AND PROTECT YOU. I don't know what else to say to try and get people there to hear. Listening isn't a strong point for most. Just parroting the PR/RP talk they've grown up hearing. It is so profoundly sad that the joy of freedom in Jesus is lost on them. Watch a service and tell me where you see joy and hope and gladness. I see empty people going through the motions, wearing the same stuff, singing the same songs, saying the same things, taking kids out to be beaten for being young children, and hearing the same old things from the pulpit. It is so robotic! I can't wait for my church service every Sunday. In fact, I don't like it when we have to visit elsewhere when we speak or when we are traveling. I watch it online then. Why? Not because I have to. Because I literally love being there with joyful people pouring love into a community, whether they are church members or not. I sit with truly homeless individuals on Sunday and we worship together. How about you PR/RP churches? When did you have the homeless attending? Our church drives around and picks them up. They offer help where it's needed and would help. They don't have to be freshly showered and dressed in Sunday finery to be there. We literally celebrate that they came! That church is LOVE. It is where i personally met Jesus and realized how loved I am. I long for all those in those walls to have the same. It is beautiful and peace filled. Our church is not filled with abuse that they scramble to hide. They are diligent and watchful for it and are not afraid to call it out and remove the abuser. Legal services would be called immediately. They protect the most vulnerable in the flock while my former denomination literally preys on them! I would happily welcome ANYONE to attend a service with me. It changed my life 20 minutes into the first time i went. I am no longer ashamed to tell people I love Jesus. Because now I know who the real Jesus and the real God and the real Holy Spirit is. Getting baptized last Easter was the most joyful moment of my life for me. I am on fire now to plug into a ministry for the spiritually and otherwise abused. It is why, at 54 years old, I am again enrolled into college and started my first 33 credit course. Next September, I plan to be well finished with this and begin a 2 year intensive training. Retirement is not even in my mind anymore! My life gets to restart all over again and I get to help people who most need healing. People destroyed by abuse in their lives and at the hands of their church through spiritual abuse. The more I learn, the more I see how un-Christ like the leaders of that church are. Pharisees. Be honest with yourself and try to see where they are different from your church leaders. I love the people who remain in those churches. They need help and healing. I pray always over them and pray their leaders turn around and live and lead as they should or that they are removed from their positions. They have destroyed God's children in the name of serving God and they will have to answer for that. I am not leaving the forum but I will be very busy preparing for my ministry that lies ahead. Happy Monday everyone!

Churches wake up! Also true of the Southern Baptist Convention. One leader there was publicly complaining about how much money was being diverted from important and useful church work like missions in order to pay for the Guideposts investigation and report about abuse and for legal consultation to see if adopting the Guideposts report would make them financially liable.
Sounds like these guys never heard of John 12:1-8.

Is it Wednesday yet? So many skeletons hidden in closets. So many rugs full of filth that was swept under them and its time for it to finally see the light of day.

I have two Bullet Point posts to make. One today, one tomorrow. They are both rather large and took a long time to research and produce. Circumstances made it so that both just happened to be publishing-ready around the same time.

I have two Bullet Point posts to make. One today, one tomorrow. They are both rather large and took a long time to research and produce. Circumstances made it so that both just happened to be publishing-ready around the same time. Very well written as to protect and also be an advocate for the abused. With each passing bullet point it becomes abundantly clear that a 3rd party investigation is needed to protect the remaining members of the PRC. Years and years of hidden abuse, with many of the abused being untreated and covered up. Warning signs everywhere, pedophiles leaving jail terms and joining the little tight knit Dutch PRC Churches. Red Flag at every turn, this is so heartbreaking. Thanks To Prnolonger for dedication toward positive change.
